My name is Clay. I served nearly 10 years in the Army as a light infantryman, completing two combat tours in eastern Afghanistan before being medically retired. I am here by the grace of God, trusting that His plan for my life will unfold as He intends.
After my military service, I spent three years pursuing a degree in Agribusiness, later shifting my focus to Fish and Wildlife Management and Conservation Law Enforcement. During this time, I also developed a passion for taxidermy. These days, you’ll often find me on the farm, where I care for my chickens, ducks, and garden. I feel closest to God when immersed in nature, whether I’m fishing or hunting.
Hi, I'm Candice! I am a writer by nature, but a homeschooling mom who loves weaving faith into daily life. When I'm not homeschooling, you can find me bringing devotionals to a group of women at a local rehabilitation center, teaching kids at church on Wednesdays, or writing on my personal blog, candicehillisministries.com. I believe in the power of words to inspire, encourage, and challenge, and I’m passionate about creating a space where faith and creativity collide. Watching my husband serve in the military has deeply inspired me to support his dream to create a space for veterans, and it’s become a mission of mine to help in whatever way I can. When I’m not writing or teaching, I’m often curled up with a good mystery novel or working on my latest crafting project. I cherish every moment spent with my family and find joy in the little things—like a good cup of coffee or a peaceful walk in nature!
